For the time being, I am using my old school Blackjack 1, running WM6 Standard. I try to max out the capabilities of my dinosaur of a phone with apps to entertain me or help me get stuff done. So here they are, and they are all free!
Dashwire - backs up and syncs all of your contacts, photos, video, text and mms messages to their online “community” so you can easily retrieve lost items or change phones seamlessly. in my world on “white screen of death” with my past 3 phones, this is a lifesaver for me if I ever need it. I back things up to my storage card, but know those easily fail too.
PockeTwit - I am a Twitter junkie and this little app keeps me up to date while allowing me to post, reply, and DM people on my lists.
Opera Mini - A much better browser than IE.
Skyfire - Another great browser that gives you more of a desktop experience than Opera or IE. It also supports Flash.
Yahoo! Go 3 - directly from Yahoo “today’s essential solution for anyone with a mobile phone. It’s an all-in-one offering that lets you enjoy the best of the Internet on your phone—for free. Send an email, upload photos, download a map, search for answers, check stock quotes, or get breaking news—all that and much more is available through Yahoo! Go.”
Google Maps - Directions, maps, “GPS” and now has Street View.
Skybook - Nice little Facebook client for your phone.
Palringo - IM client, supports AIM, Yahoo, MSN, Google Talk, and more.
I have more but this is enough to keep you busy for awhile. Let me know what you think of these apps.
